Hybrid Learning

Hello Arbutus Middle School families,

While we hope that students will return for full-time in-person learning in the fall, BCPS will also offer the Virtual Learning Program (VLP) for students in Grades K-12 for 2021-2022. The VLP will provide full-time virtual instruction from BCPS staff, including live (synchronous) instruction and anytime (asynchronous) learning. Students enrolling in the BCPS Virtual Learning Program will remain enrolled in their BCPS school. As a BCPS student, they may participate in meals, sports, extracurricular activities, and other opportunities.

If you are interested in having your child sign up for virtual learning next school year, please use the link below:

Register for the VLP by Monday, May 31 using this online form. See the VLP website for more information.

Thank you,

Michelle P. Feeney, Principal

AMS Re-Entry Changes for In-Person Learning Snapshot

When students return for in-person learning, there will be some noticeable changes to some of the policies and routines of the school day.  The AMS Re-Entry document linked above outlines logistics for arrival/dismissal, face coverings, social distancing, breakfast/lunch options, and health screening information.  Most importantly for in-person and virtual students, the bell schedule will change beginning on March 15, 2021.  Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the upcoming changes.
